"Sunday Service" by Black Prince

On Sunday 25th June 2017, preserved Black Prince buses will be in squadron service on the streets of Morley, recreating scenes of the past operating over original Black Prince Sunday bus routes.

Several Sunday bus services in the Morley area saw Brian's red and yellow buses maintaining the timetable between 1986, when contracts were awarded with the de-regulation (privatisation) of local bus services, until the close of business with Brian's retirement in summer 2005.

Our running day will see portions of each Morley Sunday route represented, with buses serving Leeds, Batley, New Farnley, Gildersome, Pudsey, Dewsbury, East and West Ardsley, Rothwell and Oulton.

There will be a chance for refreshments at every bus terminus, with each service carefully planned to terminate at or near to the entrance to a public house, which should provide a nice break in between sampling our superb selection of heritage buses!

With help from our friends, we aim to deploy vehicles of an appropriate era to provide the service, with older buses of a similar type used by Black Prince several years ago actually running over the routes from the early days of Sunday services in Morley, the more modern vehicles operating the services which they would have been allocated to in the 2000's

A booklet, containing some history and information about the company and the running day, with timetables and route maps included will be available to purchase shortly, with orders possible via this website, email, or collection at events prior.
