Golden Year Spring Weekend
Updated: Mar 9, 2019
As the golden 50th year of Black Prince continues, we plan a busy spring weekend of nostalgia during Saturday/Sunday 09/10/03 2019.
Volvo Ailsa 814 is scheduled to work over the two days, starting with an evening route reminisce over former Black Prince route 90/90A, Leeds-Greengates.
This interesting rambling route was linked with the company for several years, but in 2019 does not exist as a public bus service. We intend to depart Leeds at 1805, from York Street, stand F5, following the original Black Prince schedule throughout to Greengates, Redcar Road terminus.
For the photographers, we shall incorporate photo stops where safe/requested. On the return journey from Crossgates to Leeds, we shall pause for one hour in Pudsey, where passengers can have a break or enjoy fish & chips from one of the many Pudsey chippys!.
The Ailsa will resume service at 2021, forming the 90A service to Leeds and terminating at 2050.
On Sunday 10/03/2019, if you're lucky enough to live on or near to the 205 route, you'll be able to visit the Dewsbury Bus Museum open day event by Volvo Ailsa, when 814 will again be in traffic, forming the 0930 departure form Morley Town Hall, joining Gareth Atherton's LWB377P for a Black Prince Ailsa meetup!.
For further information about either day, please make contact and I will try my best to help!.
