  • Christmas Day 2015, H51 SUCCESS!.

The "Hospital Link" H51 FREE bus service, operated on Christmas Day 2015, proved to be a great success. The bus operated to time all day and ran with some good loads, carrying almost 100 passengers during the course of the days operations. Huge thanks go to Gordon and Richard for helping with the driving, Stephen Whiteley for official photography, Mum McMullan for decorating the bus for Christmas, DNC for washing it prior to the day and Sandra Binns for making the mince pies for the passengers! Also big thanks to everyone else who helped to organise, publicise and make it all happen. All in all a superb day and as it was such a success we hope to get together again next Christmas (2016) for a repeat performance, hopefully the service can become a regular community addition to the Morley area. http://www.morleyobserver.co.uk/news/local/black-prince-brings-the-festive-spirit-for-christmas-day-1-7600929

  • 441 Makes preservation debut at Lincoln, LVVS autumn open day 2015. (P441SWX)

Presented in the livery of previous keeper, Red Kite travel of St.Helens, 441 attended the LVVS open day in Lincoln on 01/11/15, where a superb day was enjoyed as always at this great event. The Mercedes did not provide any bus services during the day but was a popular static exhiit, with questions about the history of the bus and the plan for it's future. 441 performed superbly, with around 250 miles of running under it's belt during the three days out of it's base, most of it in thick fog!. The bus came home with me on Saturday halloweeen night, ready for an early departure to Lincoln. On our return from the event, a photo journey was performed in the fog on the X51 Morley to Leeds. On the Monday, P441SWX was delivered to a bodyshop in Leeds, for attention to body panels, prior to painting into its version of Black Prince livery. Watch this page for future developments! Cheers all. #Prisma #441 #OptareDemonstrator #LVVS

  • A Galaxy of three point stars........

It's with great pride that we can now say two more members of the Black Prince fleet are saved for future generations to enjoy the red and yellow buses we fondly remember! Mercedes-Benz 0405/Optare Prisma, P441SWX and stablemate TIL7902 have returned to Yorkshire, to the Black Prince family, joining N577EUG which has already thankfully been spared the cutters torch.

  • Ex-Black Prince buses offered for preservation by Red Kite Travel, St.Helens..

Red Kite have very kindly been in touch, to inform us that, due to the forthcoming change in step entrance bus regulations, the last two Mercedes-Benz 0405/Optare in the fleet are now up for sale. As we have expressed an interest in saving the pair of former Black Prince Stalwarts many months ago, it's time to hit the road for a viewing!. Watch this space.

  • "Welcome Home"

A BIG Thank-You to everybody who visited the the celebration on the 26th July 2015, and to all who made a contribution to the event. The day was a fantastic success, well attended and rekindling memories of our favourite Morley bus operator. It was great to see the buses back on the streets of Morley, providing services to the people for the day, but even better was the opportunity to see the members of staff who made Black Prince the family that it was. The snapshots show a cross section of the day, which I'm very pleased to share here. Enjoy!.

  • Wrecker's Return!..Hello old friend, Welcome back to the North!..368..

It was a mega early start for Bradley and Dave on the 26th June 2015, when the mission to return the tow truck, 368, to Yorkshire was completed!. The machine had been passed between several owners since leaving Black Prince, but thanks to Dan Shears at the West of England Transport Collection, for returning it to the Black Prince family, where fond memories are held of it.
